Master Gardeners of Beaufort County On October 18, from 10AM to 4PM
A program sponsored by the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service will host a Garden Tour of eight of their member’s gardens. Gardens are located at homes in HH and Bluffton. Plants will be labeled and master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. A plant sale will also be held at the Coastal Discovery Museum. Tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased at Burke’s Pharmacy, The Greenery, Sunshine Nursery, Bruno’s Nursery and Markel’s gift shop. Proceeds will support Master Gardener beautification projects. Art “On the Edge” at the Arts Center
The artists presenting “On the Edge” include Deanna Bowdish, Cindy Chiappetta, Art Cornell, Marilyn Dizikes, Jo Dye, Anne Hakala, Brucie Holler, Vickie Jourdan, Stephen Kishel, Mary Jane Martin, Arla Crumlick Wible, Caroll Williams and Irene K. Williamson. Several on this prestigious list are from Bluffton.
This all-abstract show is a unique experience, where each artist utilizes a different set of values and ideas to create a singular visual image unlike any other. The excitement and energy of the show are palpable from the moment one enters the gallery. There is nothing ordinary about it. The cacophony of color, form and line draw the eye and challenge the senses.
“On the Edge” continues at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina through October 12. The Walter Greer Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and one hour before performances in the theater. Local artist Emily Wilson will present a series of oil paintings at the Society
of Bluffton Artists’ Gallery from September 22 through November 1. Her show, features Carolina scenes blending the use of sensitive color with a strong depiction of light and atmosphere.
Ms. Wilson, a former president of the Society, finds tremendous inspiration in the natural beauty and vastness of the marshes, waterways, and native vegetation of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

SoBA Announces A New Class With Award Winning Artist Lynda Potter
The Society of Bluffton Artists Gallery announces a new exciting class, Concepts of Creative Water media with award winning artist LyndaPotter. The workshop will run from October 2-4 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The cost is $150 plus a materials fee. This is an opportunity to study with one of Bluffton’s best. She will lead students through the use of acrylic paints which are versatile and well suited to the exploration ofdifferent types of approaches in the creative process. Lynda will teach using concepts of creative water media and the class is open to all levels.
