My Christmas Dish for You
By Chris Wagner
've traveled far and traveled wide
Through all the towns and countryside,
To try to see if I could find
The perfect meal for Christmas time.
Well, I tried steak and I tried ham,
Turkey, duckling, leg of lamb,
Lobster, pork and pan fried trout,
Sausage served with sauerkraut.
Chicken, roast beef, goose pate,
Scallops, veal and French souffle,
Pizza, ziti, fettucine,
Pasta, scampi and linguine.
Tacos, chili, stuffed tostadas,
Chimichangas and enchiladas,
Gyros, fish, prime rib au jus,
Curries, szechuans, barbecue.
But the dish that I prefer the most
Of all the foods from coast to coast,
Of all the entrees, sides and platters,
Is good old shrimp in cornmeal batter.
I love my shrimp on top of steak,
I love them broiled, I love them baked.
I love them steamed, I love them fried,
I love them stuffed with crab inside.
Yep, I could eat shrimp all the time,
With cocktail sauce and a squeeze of lime.
I hate to use my shrimp for bait,
I'd rather see them on my plate.
Now Christmas time is finally here,
With lots of joy and lots of cheer.
And I'll be grinning ear to ear,
'Cause I'll have shrimp with ice cold beer!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good bite!!![]()
Have a blessed and comfortable holiday season! Much Love from the folks at the Bluffton Breeze Magazine
